Comprehensive Support for Students and Families
At To The Edges Inc., we believe that every student deserves a clear path to success supported by strong collaboration between families, schools, and community systems. Our team facilitates student-centered planning meetings that honor each learner’s strengths and aspirations, advocates for appropriate supports and services, and assists families in navigating the registration and application process for state-level funding opportunities. Through this partnership, we help ensure that every student receives the resources and advocacy needed to thrive.

The MAPS Process
The Making Action Plans (MAPs) process is a student-centered, strength-based approach that helps teams design supports so learners with extensive needs can be successful, valued members of their school community.
Each MAPs meeting brings together the student, family, staff, and related service providers to explore the student’s strengths, potential, and uniqueness. Unlike an IEP, it focuses on proactive planning for inclusion and belonging rather than specific goals or placements.
The follow-up “Learner Planning” meeting turns insights into strategies that promote access, engagement, and connection across the school day. This process—used during key transitions such as PreK to Kindergarten, 5th to 6th grade, 8th grade to High School, and beyond—values every voice and fosters collaboration to ensure every student thrives.

PUNS Registration
Navigating the Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS) process in Illinois can be complex. To The Edges Inc. provides expert guidance to help families understand eligibility criteria, organize necessary documentation, and complete the registration process accurately and efficiently. Our goal is to ensure families are fully informed and positioned to access the state-level supports and services their children need.

Advocacy
At To The Edges Inc., we pride ourselves on partnership. We collaborate with families and school districts to ensure every learner’s needs are understood, supported, and met. Our work includes attending IEP and 504 meetings, developing clear and effective communication plans, and coordinating with both private and school-based providers to create consistency across settings. Through open collaboration and expert guidance, we strive to minimize the educational impact of a student’s disability—ensuring that services, supports, and goals are aligned so every learner can thrive in their school community.
Our approach is grounded in partnership, transparency, and empowerment. We believe that when families and schools work together with a shared understanding, students experience greater success and a true sense of belonging. By fostering collaboration and ensuring that every voice is heard, we help build sustainable, inclusive, and responsive systems of support that cater to each child’s unique strengths and needs.
